Absentee Ballot Information

All school districts in NYS are mandated to offer Absentee Ballots for all school votes. That includes the regular budget vote in May as well as any referendum that may be put to the voters throughout the year. Disabled residents who have registered with the Jefferson County Board of Elections will automatically be sent an absentee ballot. All other legal residents will be able to apply for an absentee ballot. Voter Requirements

WHO CAN VOTE?

NO PRIOR REGISTRATION IS NECESSARY.

  • You must be 18 years or older on or before May 17, 2022
  • You must be a United States Citizen
  • A district resident for 30 days prior to the vote

NOTE:

Voters will be required to sign that they meet the qualifications

  • No previous voter registration is necessary
  • According to state law, property ownership can not be required
  • Absentee Ballots are available for eligible voters
