Head Mechanic - Transportation Supervisor
$50,000/Year. Full Benefit Package. NYS Retirement, 403(b) & NYS 457 Plans available. Paid Time Off.
Duties Include, but not limited to: Performing skilled automotive repair & maintenance tasks requiring a thorough knowledge of the trade. Supervision may be exercised over automotive mechanic's helper and bus drivers.
Examples of Work: Maintains preventative maintenance on school buses; performs skilled operation in the repair & of gasoline & diesel motor equipment, including trucks, tractors and buses; repairs/replaces motor pumps, fuel pumps, generators, carburetors, and shock absorbers; repairs ignition systems, transmissions, brake systems, clutches, and front & rear axles; greases vehicles, changes oil & filters; maintain trip records and prepares transportation reports; calls & assigns substitute drivers; assigns drivers to special trips/runs; maintains time records for payroll purposes; assists in preparing transportation budget, operate a school bus; prepares a variety of related records & reports.
Minimum Qualifications: Four Years of experience as a skilled technician.
Special Requirement: Possession of appropriate level NYS driver's license at time of appointment.
